St. Jude Through the Eyes of a Two-Year-Old [LISTEN]

You may not be using St. Jude Children's Research Hospital now, but imagine that young child in your life needs it. Won't you be happy to know it's there? That's how I feel about my little cousin.

I can look at pictures and stories of these St. Jude patients and my heart breaks for them and their families. I feel for them and can't believe these little bodies have to fight for their lives at such a young age.

Every time we mention St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, I think of my two-year-old cousin Seraphina. I don't have kids of my own and she's been like the little sister I never knew I needed. I decided to try to explain to her what St. Jude was and how important it is so Mommies and Daddies all over the world can have healthy kids like she is. She told me what she would do to help them.

She's a happy, energetic, almost three-year-old who has no idea how blessed she is. We sing Disney songs, have dance parties, and she's pretty good at doing my imaginary makeup. She has no idea that there are kids her age fighting all over the country for their lives. Thank God, we're not using the hospital right now but I'm so happy to know that if she, my future kids, or even her future kids need it, it's there.
