Yesterday, a press release sent out by Rivers Casino in Schenectady was very specific about NOT opening today despite the green light from Governor Cuomo.  Today, the information is quite different and an announcement this morning states that they in fact will be opening today for the first time in nearly 5 months.   Here's what you need to know:

According to the press release issued on Wednesday morning, Rivers will be open today starting at 6pm.  Starting on Thursday morning, their new hours will be 8am-2am which will allow their staff to utilize most of the late night, early morning hours for an "intensive property wide deep cleaning."  As stated before, the Governor's mandated capacity of 25 percent will be adhered to by Rivers until further notice according to the press release.

As far as what you can play and what you can't, it's quite limited to start.  Slot machines will be in full operation but the poker room and table games will not be operable at this time.  The Rivers sportsbook however, will be open and taking bets.  Quite convenient for the kickoff of the NFL season which starts on Thursday night with a full slate of games on Sunday.

Masks must be worn at all times by staff and guests.

The Landing Hotel will not be open as well as many of the restaurants with the exception of Flipt which according to the press release will have an "enhanced menu."
