Phone Scam: Person Claims To Be From Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office

These phone scams seem to becoming an almost weekly thing.

Last week, I had a story about a phone scam involving people in the North Greenbush area, and now there’s a phone scam aimed at people in Saratoga County. The scammer has been making calls to residents in Saratoga County. The scammer tells the person that they have a tax bill that was not paid and they will be arrested if they do not pay it.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office has told people that if they received this kind of a call, to just hang up, and then they should contact the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office at 518-885-6761. According to the article in the Saratogian, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office will not accept payments for anything over the phone.
