I have to tell you, I must have been living in a cave because I didn't even know this book was out there! How glad I am to have found it though. I wouldn't have known about the book if I didn't just watch Levar Burton reading the book aloud for charity. The video was posted Saturday as part of a charity event for Children's Miracle Hospitals and over $442,000 was raised. You have to love that!

The book was written by Adam Mansbach who got inspired to do it after he posted on his personal Facebook after trying to put his daughter down for the night, "Look out for my forthcoming children's book, Go the [famous four-letter expletive] to Sleep," People went nuts and the response was so great that he quickly went to work on the book.

I will share with you two versions of the book being read, first by Levar Burton who as the host of "Reading Rainbow" makes the idea of him reading this very funny, and second an older more well done version from Samuel Jackson, who you could almost hear reading it in your head when you first start reading the pages.

You can tell me which version you prefer.

And now the Samuel Jackson version:
