It looks like our chances of having snow on the ground for Christmas are increasing with more expected early this week.

We just got a few inches of fresh powder here in the Capital Region, and more is on the way early this week!  The Weather Channel says snow will return after Midnight Tuesday and will last through the morning commute, tapering off to light snow Tuesday afternoon. Another 1 to 3 inches is expected. Temperatures will also remain cold this week, so any snow we get should hang around for a while.

As I wrote last week, the odds of us having a White Christmas in the Albany area are actually in our favor every year. We usually have about a 60% chance of having snow on the ground for Christmas. With the cold weather we have been having, coupled with some early December snow, the chances of us actually having snow on the ground for Christmas are looking pretty good! Let's hope we get another storm or tow before the holiday for guarantee it!
