I guess my word of the day is 'Hurray"!   Hurray for Puzzles Bakery and Cafe for being so forward thinking, and hurray for a hard worker and family friend, Matt Genovese.

Matt is one of the lucky kids who is now part of the staff at Puzzles Bakery and Cafe in downtown Schenectady.

They are only one of two businesses of it's kind in the state that has ever tried this.   Their website spells their mission out much better than I could.

Puzzles Bakery & Café is committed to improving the livelihood of individuals, families, and communities affected by autism spectrum disorders. Individuals with developmental disabilities have the right to work in integrated settings with non-disabled colleagues, be afforded the same wages, and contribute to society in a meaningful way.

They recently celebrated their grand opening, and here's a video about it

You can go to the website and find their menu as well as other great information.  This is such a great thing to help these folks feel productive, connected to the community and most of all -proud of themselves.

And on a personal note, congrats to our friend and neighbor, Matty Genovese.   I can't wait to come in and taste what you guys are cookin' up!
