Google Nose, Consumer iPad Warning, Free Apps – Tech Talk

Move over Google Glasses - now there's Google Nose.  And speaking of noses, can you smell a scam when it's right in front of you - like in a Walmart for instance?  Welcome to Tech Talk- 

Google is into EVERYTHING these days.  I can't believe how they are now invading our senses, one at a time.  You've probably heard of Google Glasses -where you don these weird star trek looking things and information is flashed right on the lenses - directions, weather forecasts , names of buildings that you pass as you walk - ANYTHING!

Well, let's move on from the eyes to the nose.  Welcome to Google Nose.  Here's an explanation.

Now - did you believe all of that?  I, of course (being gullible) thought it actually might be on the up and up. but Google admitted that it was an April Fools Joke!   Ha Ha.

  Fake iPad Alert 

Now this next story could happen to ANYONE. This is unbelievable to me, and I'll bet you will feel the same.

I'm not doing this to knock Walmart here, by the way.  This could happen to ANY store, come to think of it.  It's not like Walmart purposely purchased fake merchandise to dupe the consumer or anything.

Lord knows where this scam originated, but all I can tell you is - make sure that you get some kind of verification before you leave the store that this is a bonified Apple product.  Maybe have them call Apple and run the identification number on the box to make sure it's real.  Will they open the package right there for you?  I'm not sure, but it's worth a try.

    Free Apps Every Day

We'll end with a freebee.  Everyone likes that word.  No time to tell you about all the apps on this site, but if you are looking for free ones, here's the place to go.  It's called FreeAppADay.com.  They seem to be mostly for iPhone.

I'll admit - I have become a total Apple fanboy -well, fanMAN.  I have to start being more sensitive to everyone's needs, so here's a link for free Android apps from Techradar.com as well.  Just don't play them at work - or if you get canned, don't blame me.
