Chris Young is looking to extend his reign as Country Music's Hottest Bachelor – hey now! Chris took the title both last year and in 2009.  This year he is facing 26 other single country guys for the distinction.  His competition includes: Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Jake Owen, and Jerrod Niemann.  Other eligible bachelors include Jamey Johnson, Jimmy Wayne, Josh Thompson, and Chuck Wicks. Veteran stars Randy Travis and Dwight Yoakam are also up for the title as well, along with 2010 winner Gary Allan.

Luke Bryan’s Tailgates & Tanlines album has climbed back up to No. 1 on the country album chart.  Luke’s collection of songs has sold another 17,300 copies to land in the top spot, and it’s now approaching platinum status.  In case you don’t have a copy, Luke wants fans to know that his third album is more than just a series of party songs.

The Academy of Country Music announced their off-camera winners for the 47th Annual ACM Awards. These trophies will be handed out at the 6th Annual ACM Honors coming up September 24 in Nashville.  Kenny Chesney is getting the Crystal Milestone award for selling out stadiums year after year; Vince Gill is receiving the Career Achievement award; and Alan Jackson will be presented with the Jim Reeves International Award for his worki in taking country music around the world.

Speaking of around the world, The Band Perry's debut album was released this past Monday in the United Kingdom via Mercury UK.  It has already gone to #1 spot on both iTunes album/single charts for Country and to #18 overall album.  Congrats to them!
