November 24, 2011 I love doing this Readin' Writin and Rhymin' School Tour. Have I ever mentioned that before? Yea, I think so! I've loved every song I've done with every class. There's no grading system! They're ALL greatest hits, in my book. So here's one that continues to make me giggle
November 18, 2011 As I continue the Readin', Writin', and Rhymin' "Don't Be A Bully" tour, I had to make a return appearance at Arongen Elementary School in Clifton Park. And once again, they didn't disappoint!
October 17, 2011 Many people might think to themselves, " glad those nasty hurricanes are now a memory". Not if you drive out to places like Schoharie County. The need is still great, trust me. All the more reason to replay a phenomenal song written by kids in the thick of it all.
October 9, 2011 As you may or may not know, October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. And thru my connection with the Academy for Character Education at Russell Sage College we have been very active in trying to spread the word (thru song!) I think the little ditty that these kids created will stick in your head for a very long time!
September 13, 2011 First I would like to thank Jacqueline DeChiaro of Van Schaick Elementary School in Cohoes for kindly allowing me to change the schedule around to allow this, but I thought this needed to be done. Schoharie needs a pick me up after all of the flooding, so I am throwing the keyboard in the car and going this Friday!
September 12, 2011 I had a fantastic experience with the kids from Charlton Heights Elementary School last Friday. Mrs. Brooks, being the equally fantastic teacher, invited me this early in the year to help kick off a huge anti-bullying campaign that I am involved with, and I certainly appreciated it! August 21, 2011 We're getting there. The end of summer vacation. Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings here, but it's true! So I'm trying to do a little more advanced planning here and put out the call to teachers who would like to sign up for the Readin', Writin' and Rhymin' school program. Here's all you need to do!
July 29, 2011 The Reading, Writing and Rhyming Tour continues to be the highlight of my week here at the station. It's such a rewarding experience getting out there to work with kids from all over the area. This visit was no exception!
July 18, 2011 You pass by this building alot if you travel on Rte 155 in the Capital Region. It used to house a Credit Union. Many have wondered why noone has cut the lawn there in ages. There’s a great answer for that!
June 29, 2011 The Reading Writing and Rhyming Tour this week made a special "whistle stop". This was the first of the summer camp appearances, and certainly not the last. Many of these summer camps that I go to take place in regular classrooms. Nothing wrong with that, but to actually be outside singing in the Grafton State Park with the Hope 7 kids? Nothing like it!
June 25, 2011 It's the end of another school year, and the conclusion of the 15th year of the Readin', Writin, and Rhymin' School Program. (Just kidding. We never close, not even for summer vacation!)
May 17, 2011 I always like to get the Reading, Writing and Rhyming progam out there toward the end of the school year to see if we can capture (in song) the excitement of moving up to the next grade level. Remember those days? Well, these kids are ready! They'll tell you about it in song.
