We are underway with the Capital Region High School Hunger Games. Last week I was fortunate enough to stop by Shenendehowa High School before Senior Night of their football game.

Tim Stowell has been a friend of ours for years. He is an amazing man who works tirelessly in his efforts to raise awareness and funds to help fight childhood cancer. Tim lost his 8 year old son, Ben to osteosarcoma After three years, a project that he has been working on, has finally come to fruition.

The American Red Cross has been helping all of those affected by all three hurricanes. Capital Region residents have been traveling to the affected areas and now more are being deployed to Puerto Rico.

There are many causes that I get behind. One that I volunteer for year round is the Mechanicville-Stillwater Breast Cancer Walk. There are many events throughout the year, and I try to help out with all of them.

When it comes to a great charity like St. Jude, everyone has personal reasons why they support their life-saving work. This is why I will walk to end childhood cancer.

When a Capital Region Pet Center saw the devastation from Hurricane Harvey they decided to reach out to their customers and organize a way to help the furry victims.

With the devastation from Hurricane Harvey hitting Texas, the American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to head to the affected areas to help. Our local chapter, the American Red Cross of Eastern NY, is willing to train you.

Miranda Lambert is very passionate about her MuttNation Foundation. She helps rescue animals find forever homes. When she heard of the devastation in Texas, she wanted to make sure that the animals get help too.

Hurricane Harvey has devastated parts of Texas and even though it is a tropical storm, the rain is relentless and the flooding; catastrophic. My college friend, Ruth lives in Houston and she and her family are trying to stay positive under these extreme circumstances. There is something we can all do to help.

There is an event happening at the Saratoga Casino Hotel that features legendary Yankees, New York Giants players and more. It's all to benefit a great charity in the Capital Region.

When I took my first Uber ride, I was really impressed with my driver Pam and how passionate she was for the Capital Region. Her goal, as an Uber driver, was to educate visitors and let them know what we have to offer. Well now she and all Uber drivers can help our communities.
