We are underway with the Capital Region High School Hunger Games. Last week I was fortunate enough to stop by Shenendehowa High School before Senior Night of their football game. The community and the students came by to donate and show support for their school. You can also make a difference by either donating and volunteering in your community. The donations will serve sixty food pantries throughout the Capital Region.

GNA’s 4th Annual Capital Region High School Hunger Games presented by SEFCU is underway! We’ve selected 10 local schools to gather non-perishable food items for the Food Pantries For the Capital District to help feed those in need this coming holiday season and beyond. Not only will all 10 schools be helping such a great cause, but the school that raises the most food will win a private concert from Arista Nashville Recording Artist LANco (Singers of the current hit ‘Greatest Love Story.’) Here are the schools participating this year:

  • Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons High School
  • Colonie High School
  • Duanesburg High School
  • Galway High School
  • Waterford High School
  • Corinth High School
  • New Lebanon High School
  • Shenendehowa High School
  • Averill Park High School
  • Schoharie High School

This year’s winner will be determined based on scoring in 3 categories:

  • Total Pounds of food donations raised
  • Pounds of food donations per student
  • Social media coverage using #GNAHungergames and school spirit

Good luck to all of the schools!
