How much snow did we get during our first big snowfall of the year?

After today, we know winter time is definitely here. We have gotten a few smaller storms here in the Capital Region, but you can say today was our first sizeable snowfall. I will say the morning commute was not so bad today, so I think the smaller snows we had recently got us primed and ready for the morning commute today.

So how much snow did we get in the Albany area? The National Weather Service has announced their unofficial snowfall totals, and here is what they were as of 12:18 p.m. today:

LATHAM 4.0 inches
RENSSELAER 3.8
COHOES 3.0
COLONIE 3.0
ALBANY 2.5
GUILDERLAND 2.2
SCHENECTADY 2.0
RAVENA 1.7
GLENMONT 1.7

How much snow did you get where you live? Hopefully whatever it is, this snow hangs around so we have a white Christmas. But the chances are good that won't be necessary as it seems we will get our fair share of snow this winter. Happy shoveling!
