In 2005 the Chicago Cubs called up 24 year old minor leaguer Adam Greenberg for a game against the Florida Marlins. A dream come true for any minor leaguer but sadly Adam was hit in the head by a pitch in his first at bat and suffered a career ending injury. Thankfully the story doesn't end there.

Adam doesn't even have an official at bat because it was the first pitch that hit him in the head causing vertigo and ending his career. So here's the good news the Florida Marlins have signed Adam to a one day contract on Tuesday October 2nd against the NY Mets, so he will finally get his first official at bat. He got the news on the Today Show.

This is must see TV for me. I hope he hits a home run! Sorry Mets fans for at least one at bat I will be a Marlins fan.
