They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and this is no exception. Someone needed to replace their dining room table, so they decided to make their own, with a twist.

In an article from evilmadscientist.com, these people built it with a stained birch and poplar table frame, and topped it with a recycled frosted glass top. The glass covers the 448 LEDs (light-emitting diodes) that actually respond when you’re eating at the table. Part of the circuitry has capacitors, resistors and a few other components that most of us wouldn’t understand what they do. Wire up everything and get this very unusual piece of furniture.

I don’t think you’ll find at Taft, Old Brick. Or any other Albany area furniture store. Imagine this table at your next party. I think this would be quite the conversation piece.
