A Funky New Dining Room Table
They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and this is no exception. Someone needed to replace their dining room table, so they decided to make their own, with a twist.
In an article from evilmadscientist.com, these people built it with a stained birch and poplar table frame, and topped it with a recycled frosted glass top. The glass covers the 448 LEDs (light-emitting diodes) that actually respond when you’re eating at the table. Part of the circuitry has capacitors, resistors and a few other components that most of us wouldn’t understand what they do. Wire up everything and get this very unusual piece of furniture.
I don’t think you’ll find at Taft, Old Brick. Or any other Albany area furniture store. Imagine this table at your next party. I think this would be quite the conversation piece.
