20 Month Old Girl Beating Cancer In Capital Region
Cancer is nothing worth joking about, a disease ravaging so many in our country. This 20 month old can be an inspiration to everyone before she even forms a memory.
I myself have dealt with losing my dad at a young age to cancer but could never imagine being a parent to a newborn to find out their child has such a rare form of cancer. Well that is the horrific situation that the parents of the 1 year and 8 month old girl from Johnstown are in. Giada Olmstead now is entering her very last round of chemotherapy.
I would be lying if I told you my eyes aren't tearing up. A child who many never remember this ordeal beating a mortal disease. She before reaching the two years of age is an inspiration. After finding a tumor in her body the size of an avocado just 5 months ago that turned out to be a rare germ cell tumor, her mother has a message. One that she believes is why Giada was put on this earth.
"From the day she was born, there was always something different about her, and so I guess we decided that this is her journey and so she was given this journey, we think, to show people that she can win," said Niki Olmstead. - NEWS 13
Her momma is hoping she can be a driving reason for a cure to childhood cancer. Read more about Giada in the link below.
