March 5, 2013 marks 50 years since the plane crash that took the life of Patsy Cline, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas and Randy Hughes. Over the last few years we had the chance to visit with the widow of Hawkins and Country Music Historian Robert K. Oreman.
I recently had the chance to visit with one of the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Jean Shepard. Considering she's the only living artist to have a No. 1 hit from 1953, this was quite an honor!
I am happy to report that the Country Music Hall of Fame has announced the 2011 inductees. Opry legend Jean Shepard, Songwriter Bobby Braddock, and superstar Reba McEntire are joining the elite list that line the walls of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.
