See the Upstate New York Location for this New Horror Film ‘What Lives Here’
Have you ever seen a building that just strikes you in such a way that you stop and stare? A sight so unique, grand or interesting that you think to yourself, "This place should be in a movie". That happened to me on a daytrip through Ulster County New York and now that place IS going to be in a movie!
Filmmaker Troy Burbank has been spending time in Upstate New York shooting scenes for an upcoming Horror movie called "What Lives Here". Listen to our full interview with Burbank below. For now, let's check one of the New York locations for this movie.
Take a ride along Route 28A in West Shokan, NY and you will see a tired old building with vines, bushes and growth crawling all over the face of the place. This is Snyder's Tavern, soon to be featured in Burbank's film.
Ignore the "Keep Out" and "No Trespassing" signs out-front, head around back and enter Snyder's Tavern, one of the coolest places you will every stumble upon.
New Jersey native Troy Burbank got his start in film as a background actor in the 1988 film "Homeboy" starring Schenectady native Mickey Rourke. Burbank credits time spent with Ulster County friends for his discovery of Snyder's Tavern.
Due Spring of 2024, "What Lives Here" features actor Ron Millkie, best known for his portrayal of Officer Dorf in the 1980 film "Friday the 13th". Ernie O'Donnell from Clerks is also starring in this film along with Jeff Swanton, Pete Hogan, Robert Ruvolo, Dan Gregory, Ugochukwn Onyianta, Matt Riley, Philip Kozma, Andrew Bane and Kenny Steffens.
