A New York Yankees' television analyst made a different type of call to the bullpen during Thursday night's broadcast.

During the middle of the Yankees-Orioles rubber game, which was televised locally on YES Network, analyst Paul O'Neill dug into his contacts on his iPhone, and made a few FaceTime calls to a fellow Yankees' legend.

He was forced to make multiple calls because, funny enough, his first two calls got completely ignored. Here's how it all unfolded.

Paul O'Neill Calls New York Yankees' Legend on FaceTIme During Broadcast

We can thank the keen eyes of a few YES Network employees for spotting Joe Torre, long-time Yankees' manager, sitting behind home plate at Yankee Stadium during Thursday night's game. The production crew alerted the broadcasters, Michael Kay and Paul O'Neill, of Torre's presence, and showed him on-screen soon after.

That's when Paul O'Neill got a great idea: during a commercial break, let's call Joe!

Torre didn't answer the phone the first time, nor did he answer a second time, when O'Neill chose to call him via FaceTime. It was the third time, according to MLB.com, that ended up being the charm.

Check out the exchange below:

Here's another look at the result of the successful FaceTime call:

The true brilliance of this clip came from the way YES Network produced it. The split-screen view of O'Neill in the booth, and Torre sitting in the stands, made the entire exchange even funnier to watch as it unfolded.

Here were a few of our favorite responses to the video posted on Twitter:

Torre and O'Neill know each other very well, as O'Neill was on the team during the first six seasons that Torre served as the Yankees' manager. Both New York legends earned four World Series rings for their efforts during that illustrious six-year span.

Apparently, if you're Paul O'Neill, even a handful of championships won together won't guarantee you that Joe Torre will answer your phone call on the first ring.
