There was a time not too long ago where I used to commute from Gansevoort all the way to East Greenbush every day when WGNA studios were housed there.  That had to be at least 100 miles a day.  After 10 years, I said "enough of that", and we moved.  After hearing about Tom Stuker, though,  I'll never complain again!

Good old Mr Stuker has now a reason to brag.  According to a story I read on CNN.com:

Meet the man many people have compared to George Clooney's character in "Up in the Air." Over the weekend, Stuker became the first person ever to reach the 10 million mile mark in United's Mileage Plus program.

Let me spell that out again.  TEN MILLION MILES! Here's a segment they did about him on Niteline recently.

It's funny.  Sometimes I'm jealous when I hear about people reaching huge goals in their lives.  Derek Jeter, for example. Phil Mickelson !  Tiger Woods (let me qualify that one!)  What I wouldn't give to be great in sports!  But this guy?  He can have his travel, his frequent flyer points, his full body scans every day, his long waits on the tarmac while they de-ice the planes.  This life is so alien to me.  I don't believe someone can jump in a plane multiple times literally every week!  Not me, folks.

How about you?  If you're job required flying every single week, even once a week, would it bother you?  I'd love to know.   Meanwhile, suffice it to say I'm happy in the Toyota Corolla (that's about as dangerous as I get)
