A 1984 Corvette was involved in a hit and run accident in Glens Falls.


Because someone saw it happen and followed the suspect, they informed the Warren County Sheriff’s Department about where the car was going.

The car was stopped by police in Queensbury. The suspect, Lawrence Shufelt, allegedly gave them a false identity. After that, Shufelt allegedly took off from police. His efforts to getaway led police into Washington County, where the car crashed again.

A K-9 unit was called in to assist in the search for the suspect. According to the story from CBS 6 Albany, tracked down by the K-9 unit, Shufelt was arrested and was charged with several traffic violations in both counties - Fleeing A police Officer and Criminal Impersonation.
