Annoying Facebook Profile Photos

Pet Peeves, we all have them. My latest is profile picture on the Facebook. I just don't understand why some people put some of them up. To me, it seems simple, just put a decent looking picture of yourself , well cropped so that people know who they are talking to. It also comes in handy if you are searching for someone you know and their name is "John Smith", how else can you figure out who the one your looking for is?

I am aware that not everyone thinks they are attractive, hell I'm no George Clooney, but seriously its your profile, and it's YOU. Why would you have a problem with the people who are your "friends" seeing a picture of your face? With all that said here are the things that bother me. Now, please don't take it personally if your picture falls into these categories, it's really just one guy's hang ups.

1. Your pet.

I'm sure you love your little snuggle muffin but what does your cat have to do with me?  Unless "mittens" is getting on the computer and using your screen name, I don't want to stare at her.

2. Group shots.

Everyone knows what your doing here. I'm glad you have some hot friends that's awesome. I should tell you however that whether it is the case or not, when someone comes across a profile picture with more than one person in it, they always assume the owner of the page is the ugliest person in the picture.

3. Scenery.

Unless your a professional photographer this is very boring. I guess if you just visited a major landmark like the Eiffel Tower, a picture of that would be cool for a while, but maybe at least have you standing in fron of it.

4.  Your kids.

This one is a little less bothersome but still. Do you really want to come across as someone who lives vicariously through your children? Post all you want of them in your albums but if they are that cute, you cant be that ugly right?

5. Your unborn baby.

I know a lot of you are going to get mad at me for this but I just don't understand it. This goes for both the ultrasound photos and the "belly" pics. I know your proud, and everyone is happy for you, but not everyone likes to see things like that. Again if its in your albums where someone who wants to see it can, that's fine. But it can be a little unnerving when you sign on and there's a big weird creature posing for you in a black and white blur.

There are other things as well, maybe you can mention them. These are just the ones that popped into my head just now. I should also say that all rules can be broken, there are times when you may want to put one or all of these up for a day or two, that's cool. You know who I'm talking about though, its everyday, and exclusive.

Maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong or being a little too harsh but I'm sure either way, you will let me know! :)
