Troy’s City Hall Is Moving To A New Location
Troy’s City Hall used to be on the waterfront at 1 Monument Square. After it was decided that the building was in need of some major repairs, City Hall took up residence in the former Verizon Building on Sixth Avenue in 2009. The former City Hall Building on the waterfront has been torn down.
City Hall is going to move again. I read a story in the Times Union that this time, it will be in the Hedley Building at 433 River Street. The Hedley Building used to house the offices for The New York State Health Department, which moved their offices to Albany.
This may be another temporary solution as a permanent building will eventually be purchased instead of leased.
