Workers Memorial Day recognizes those workers who have died or sustained work-related injuries or illnesses.  President Obama has proclaimed today Workers Memorial Day.

Every year millions of Americans suffer workplace-related injuries or illnesses, and thousands lose their lives.  According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 49,000 deaths are attributed to work-related illnesses each year.

Today is a day to reflect on these sacrifices and to rededicate ourselves to ensuring working conditions are as safe as possible.  Workplace injuries and fatalities are preventable.

Let's ensure all workers come home safely at the end of each workday.
