By now I'm sure you have seen the shocking video showing some very inappropriate behavior of one of our local law enforcement officers. It really is shocking and hard to watch, especially for me as I have many friends who are in law enforcement and they are truly good people. I am not an apologist for the police however, I am fully aware that many just should not be allowed to wear the badge. I don't know if it's the type of person who is attracted to such a dangerous job or the dangerous job that changes a person, perhaps a mixture. This however is not an excuse for anyone.
It seems there is another missing youth in our area and the Coeymans Police Department would like your help in finding, Taylor Olmsted a 14 year old who was last seen on route 9W near the South Gate Deli and walking towards the Oak Brook Manor apartment complex in Ravena
Hard to believe it's been 10 years since we first came up with the idea to start "Blue Friday". I have to tell you of all the things I have been a part of in my radio career this event has always been one that I have been the most proud of. Something that started as just an idea to honor the fallen police officers in our area as well as those who currently serve has grown into an organization of it's own, "Blue Friday Of New York", and a N.Y.S. recognized holiday. I am amazed every year at the support and generosity that our WGNA listeners give to this event. I hope that this year is no exception.
