Memorial Day 2012 is this Monday May 28. People will be getting together to have cookouts and parties.
In case you haven't heard already, this year's Tulip Festival in Albany's Washington Park is going to be much different than previous years -- all thanks to some out of control college students who decided to pretend they were Irish on Albany's St. Patty's, parade day.
Around the time of St. Patrick's Day, everyone whips out their green, sticks a "kiss me I'm Irish" pin on, drinks a Guiness and claims to be Irish so they have an excuse to party hard and do the Irish jig. However, for the real Irish folk, we can't help but feel a little insulted because there is more to being Irish or at least pretending to be Irish than just those three things.
The FBI reports a bomb was found in a backpack Monday morning by three contract workers at a Martin Luther King Day parade in Spokane, Washington. The backpack was found about a half-hour before the parade was set to start.
