I had almost forgotten that NBC's Celebrity Apprentice was still going to happen even though Donald Trump is no longer with the show or network. It seems Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the new man everyone is trying to impress. I have wondered if I would even give it a shot with Arnold as the host I am having a hard time wrapping my head around that choice but hey I figured I may at least give it a chance if for nothing else , just to see if his elimination line is , "Hasta La Vista Baby".
I think it is so cool that someone has finally decided to make a movie about Dolly Parton's youth and most definitely this song, "Coat of Many Colors" which was autobiographical. Even as a kid I understood the words and was so impacted by them because I too grew up poor. I don't think that you have to have had a rough childhood however to apprieciate the message and the strength of love and family that is the core of the song and it would seen the movie as well. I am looking forward to seeing it on NBC.
This one may be one of my all time favorite Saturday Night Live opening sequences. It's funny it almost seems like they worked so hard getting this parody of the Democratic debate right that they didn't have time to write the rest of the show as that indeed left a lot to be desired. I really think they nailed the feel and flow of the actual debate and of course the idiosyncrasies of the candidates, the best part however was "Bernie Sanders".
If you missed the season premiere of Saturday Night Live you missed some really good comedy, not to mention the antics of Miley Cyrus as host. Earlier today I posted a blog about Hillary Clinton's guest appearance where she played a bartender pouring drink for "Hillary Clinton" being impersonated by cast member, Kate McKinnon. While that was cool , I have to say that Taran Killam's impersonation of Donald Trump in the show's open definitely stole the show and got the season kicked off on the right foot.
When Saturday Night Live begins a new season you can usually expect something to happen that will get people talking about it on Monday morning, this season opener did not disappoint. Hillary Clinton stopped by to open the show and to be honest wasn't half bad.
If you have not seen this yet, it really is pretty cool. A couple were trying out for "The Voice" together and at least for one of them it was a much bigger night than she had anticipated, not only did they get two judges to turn their chairs for them but she also got a wedding proposal right on national TV.
"You're Fired". Oh how I would have loved to be in the room when NBC said that to Donald Trump. The move away from Trump as the host of Celebrity Apprentice came after his initial statements on immigration and to this point NBC has stood by their decision. To be fair though, Donald Trump would not have been able to do the show anyway due to rules about running for office. NBC at any rate has decided to move on from the outgoing entrepreneur.
The excitement is building, even as we speak. Sawyer Fredericks, from Fultonville, NY. Right in our own back yard, for God sakes! Can he win The Voice? And better yet, isn't there a song written about him yet? Maybe not until now!
