A mother battling Stage 4 cancer got the surprise of her life on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday (Oct. 19), when Martina McBride joined her 4-year-old daughter to sing an encore of “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”
The PS22 chorus hadn’t even begun singing before teacher Adriana Lopez began to tear up. Their version of Martina McBride’s “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” was aimed at her. Lopez was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and the choral director explains the group was "inspired by your fighting spirit" and wanted to give back.
The 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards, are just around the corner, but the list of performers continues to grow! New additions to the lineup include Martina McBride and Alan Jackson, so it's proving to be another star-studded year.
Martina McBride and Billy Ray Cyrus were part of a star-studded three-day event over the weekend (Aug. 22-24) to honor legendary rock group the Beatles. The two country singers joined with several other artists at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the the group's first appearance in the city.
