You may have hung up your Christmas lights this weekend, you might have trimmed the tree, like we did, or you might have finished your turkey up while watching Hallmark movies!  All great Thanksgiving weekend options... but some really amazing people in Glenmont spent their Saturday sending care packages to our troops overseas!  And frankly, that's probably the best use of this past Saturday that I can think of!

The annual Christmas Cards for Our Troops mailing parade was held in Glenmont on Saturday.   Volunteers, firefighters, Marines, Blue Star Mothers, and even Santa Claus chipped in to mail over 200,000 cards and packages overseas.

Most of the boxes contained personal hygiene and snack items. And according to WNYT, one special package is on the way to Afghanistan with a full Christmas tree and all the trimmings!

Way to go guys!  Nice work!  Happy Holidays to every one of the volunteers, and of course to all of our service members!
