You know her from being a two-time Olympic figure skating medalist (and that awful thing with Tonya Harding) and this week, she's spending a little time in the Capital Region!

This Thursday, February 7th, Nancy Kerrigan will be at the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink from 4:00-5:00pm, according to News10.

Kerrigan's appearance is thanks to the Office of General Services, I LOVE NY, At the Plaza Events, and the Aurora Games. If you haven't heard of the Aurora Games, it's one of the main reasons she's here. It's a new international, all-women's multi-sport competition festival that's coming to the Times Union Center in August. Kerrigan is the Figure Skating Chair on the advisory board.

If you've never been to the Empire State Plaza Ice Rink, this is a perfect chance to not only go but potentially skate with one of the world's best. The rink is open daily from noon-4:00pm, according to their website. Skating is free but rentals cost $3 for children 12 and under and $4 for adults. You can also take part in their next "Learn to Skate" program on March 2nd from 10:00am-12:00pm.
