On Saturday night around 10:30 p.m., dispatchers from 911 started to receive some calls about a car that was going the wrong way on I-88.

The driver was accused of being in the eastbound lane and driving westbound. The incident happened near the borders of Schenectady County and Schoharie County.

The vehicle was stopped by Schoharie County Sheriff’s Deputies in Schoharie. The man that was driving was 44-year-old Brett Schwab from Illinois. When they pulled him over, it was determined that Schwab allegedly had a few too many cocktails. He was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. He was also charged with Operating A Vehicle The Wrong Way On A One Way Highway and Refusal Of Prescreening Test. Officers from The Cobleskill Police Department also assisted The Schoharie County Sheriff‘s Deputies.

According to the article in The Times Union, Schwab remanded to The Schoharie County Jail, after his arraignment In Schoharie Town Court, where he’s scheduled to return later this month.
