Yesterday, Instagram announced that the company was changing their terms of service as of January 16, which would allow the company to sell the photos from their users.  Social media users immediately went on a campaign to notify everyone they know and warn them if they did not want to lose the rights to their photographs or allow Instagram to profit off their photos that they should remove their photos and discontinue using the site.

Later, in a blog post on Instagram’s site, they said they were listening and would modify the parts of the terms of service that will make their intentions more clear.  They say they didn’t mean they would sell the user’s photos, but that they had plans to do sponsored posts similar to what Facebook is doing with Sponsored Stories ads.

Will you continue to use Instagram, or do you fear your photos are at risk of being sold?
