Hazardous Material Fire In West Ghent. State Of Emergency Posted

This just in.  Residents of West Ghent and surrounding areas, please take note.  There is a hazardous material fire, and a state of emergency has been declared.

According to YNN, there has been a state of emergency there, and they have closed down part of Route 9 H and surrounding roads because of it.

There is a MANDATORY evacuation within a 1/2 mile radius of the fire and residents are urged to stay inside due to the smoke.

There is a smoke shelter set up at the Chatham Firehouse as well.   Be safe out there!
