Yes.  It's that time of year.  There are good farmer's markets, and awesome ones.  Well Menands has the meanest market of all!

The Farmers Market in Menands is at full steam and this Saturday it’s our annual pumpkin plant giveaway.  All anyone has to do is stop by the market between 9 and 1 for their free pumpkin plant (while supplies last, but there will be several hundred).  And they’ll want to stick around because the market has all kinds of new vendors this year offering everything from grass fed angus beef to the best tasting garlic/cheese knots you ever had.  There will also be live music by Cosby Gibson.

The Farmers Market in Menands is under cover so the pumpkin plant giveaway will happen rain or shine.

Sounds like a great time.  Glad we can publicize this for them.   A farmer's market is  a great way to support these hard working folks in the Capital District.  (Hey, what's a country station without  agriculturists who support us! It's payback time!  )

PS.  Here's your trivia question for today.  But you have to be a LONG TIME listener of WGNA to get this right.   Fred Cole is the General Manager of the Farmer's Market.  He sent me this material.  I've known Fred since I started here. Which brings me to my question.  What was Fred Cole's job here at WGNA?   I'll bet somebody knows!   Leave your answer in the comments below!
