This is a dog-friendly race. Pooches are welcome and encouraged to race with their humans, but they must remain leashed at all times, abide by pack rules and play well with others. Additionally, owners must remember to be courteous and clean up after their pets.
The entry fee is $16 pre-race, and $20 the day of. Entry fees are waived for fundraisers who turn in donations of $50 or more on the day of the race. Tee-shirts will be handed out to the first 100 registrants on September 30th. The course runs along Canalway Trail from Blatnick Park to G.E. Research HQ and back. At the halfway point, a hill adds a bit of a challenge to what is an otherwise easy course. At the finish, medals will be awarded to the very first male and female finishers, the first canine finisher, and the first male and female finishers in each age division.
Water will be stationed on the course at the halfway point. Bottled water and snacks will be provided for runners and walkers post-race, and plenty of water and treats will be provided for dogs.
