Additional Information

No, we don't mean Tony Stewart has moved to our area.  Yes, Tony is the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, but we're talking about drivers honored as champions of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for 2011.  Among the honorees was Ron Proctor of Charlton, New York.

Proctor was actually honored five times at the NASCAR banquet held in Charlotte, North Carolina last weekend.

Proctor's awards included track championships at both Albany-Saratoga and Devil's Bowl Speedways, Rookie-of-the-Year awards at both tracks, plus the Vermont State Championship.

Proctor had the best season of his career, winning feature races six times among the two tracks leading him to the track titles.
