The 10th annual Blue Friday recognizes the sacrifices made by the men and women "in blue."

'GNA and Hannaford have joined forces with Blue Friday of New York for Blue Friday on Friday, April 25 from 5:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Hannaford parking lot at Wolf Road and Sand Creek Road. We'll also be set up at Uno Chicago Grill (exit 15 off the northway) and Advance Auto Parts (15 Maple Ave., Catskill) selling blue carnations for a $5 donation, as well as limited edition Blue Friday challenge coins, t-shirts, sweatshirts, wind shirts and much more.

All of the money raised that day will benefit families of fallen police officers through Blue Friday of New York.

3rd Annual Blue Friday Fallen Officer's Memorial Ride

Following Blue Friday on Saturday, April 26, Blue Friday of New York and Blue Knights New York 24 present the third annual Blue Friday Fallen Officer's Memorial Ride (rain date Sunday, April 27).

Registration is from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Fuccillo Hyundai, 4101 State Street, Schenectady. The ride kicks off with a bike blessing at 11:45 a.m. and the escorted ride will go through 35 scenic miles in Schenectady, Saratoga, and Albany Counties, ending at the Polish American Citizens Club, 110 Commerce Ave., Albany. The ride is being held in honor of supporter Scott Linen.

Awards will be given for largest motorcycle club in attendance, longest distance rider (direct route) and oldest rider. There will also be a raffle for numerous prizes, food and beverages, entertainment and more.

Cost is $25 per bike/driver and $15 per passenger.
