A man from Columbia County was driving a golf cart on Thursday night, but he wasn’t on a golf course.

In a story from The Post Star, 25-year-old Craig C. Turczyn from Germantown made a very bad decision on Thursday night when he allegedly took the golf cart from the Finch Paper Company in Glens Falls, and drove it while he was drunk into the downtown area. Turczyn was in Glens Falls Thursday night for the Billy Currington concert at the Glens Falls Civic Center. He did this after the concert ended.

The golf cart was used by security officers. One of the officers left the key in the cart, while he went to check on his own vehicle. Turczyn apparently saw the golf cart near a security gate, and stumbled onto it and drove away.

Just after 11:30 p.m., the Glens Falls Police were called. Turczyn was spotted a few minutes later stopped at a traffic light. That’s when they pulled him over and discovered that he was intoxicated. Turczyn was charged with felony DWI, felony counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property.

I think this guy listened to Billy Currington’s song ‘People Are Crazy’ one too many times. At least no one got hurt because of this guy’s little joy ride.
