But you just might be able to swing it!

Here's how...

We were at a dinner party the other night and one of my good friends, who is the Dean at Maria college, mentioned that Maria was just approved to provide an education for 15 people here in the Capital District!  I stopped him right there and demanded more info!

I thought it would be such a great thing to share with our listeners!  How can you go to college for free!?  How can you do anything for free anymore?!

Here's the deal -

The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) grant has been awarded to Maria College by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for the 2014-2019 program years.

Selected HEOP full-time (12 or more credits) students will receive financial aid to cover tuition, fees and books, plus receive structured support services, such as counseling, tutoring, and remedial/developmental coursework.

HEOP serves New York State residents, who are both academically and economically disadvantaged.  The program is named after Arthur O. Eve, who from 1967 – 2003, served as a member of the New York State Assembly.

The HEOP grant has helped thousands of disadvantaged New York students to reach high levels of academic achievement and success!

They are recruiting first time, full-time students who meet the eligibility requirements RIGHT NOW!!  To start in the fall semester!  NEXT MONTH!  And they need 15 students!

So, if you are interested in going to college and you weren't sure if you could get in, or pay for it, this is your shot!

Interested, prospective HEOP program participants are encouraged to contact the Maria College Admission Department for more information: 518.861.2517 or admissions@mariacollege.edu.
