After 70 Yrs Family-Owned Capital Region Italian Restaurant For Sale

There is a family-owned Italian restaurant in Warren County and after seven decades of serving the community with a loyal customer base, they have decided to sell.

Mario's Restaurant which has been in Lake George since 1954 has been listed for sale. It is a family-owned Italian restaurant located at 429 Canada Street and the owners say that customers come from thirty to an hour away to eat at their delicious restaurant.

Mario's owners, Paul and Nancy Nichols have decided to retire but hope the buyer comes in and "freshens up" the Italian restaurant. The listing agent, Mitchell Muroff told the Albany Business Review that they don't want the goal to be to change the restaurant completely but the hope is they would build on the legacy that already exists.

Muroff also mentioned that Lake George is working on being a four-season destination instead of businesses and hotels closing after the summer months. The Lake George Chamber of Commerce is working hard to create more winter activities and this year they have more than ever.

But they say that a lot of full-service restaurants aren't open in the winter. They hope to change that. Mario's is open year-round so now is the perfect opportunity for someone to take it over.

Mario's Restaurant is on the market for $2.4 million. It includes the restaurant and the property. The building has a three-bedroom apartment upstairs from the restaurant. It is, in total, 5630 square feet.

Not only does the sale include the main dining room, a bar, a terrace dining room, and the kitchen with all of the updated stainless steel appliances, you get all of Mario's restaurant's recipes.

Mario's menu has many delicious items including chicken parmigiana, several pasta dishes, veal saltimbocca, and more.

Recently, Lake George received a grant from New York State's Downtown Revitalization Initiative that will rejuvenate Canada Street and the adjacent waterfront property. One of the main objectives is to improve tourist-related areas.
