Monday January 16 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

It is a holiday for a lot of people around the country. It’s one of those holidays where some people have to work, and others get a paid day off. One thing to keep in mind, there are certain changes for the day in observance for the Civil Rights activist.

Here's a list of what will be closed, or on a holiday schedule:

Financial institutions

Banks, credit unions and the stock market, all closed.

Post Offices

There will be no mail delivery.

Some Libraries will be closed

Check with the branch that you wanted to visit.

Public schools will be closed

A day off for the kids.

Most federal and state offices

A day of for some adults.

CDTA busses will be running on their holiday/Sunday schedule

CDTA has a page on their website with all the information.

If you have the day off, enjoy it. Just a little reminder that the WGNA offices will be open, so if need to claim a prize, we’ll be here for you. What other businesses will be closed or open?
