Ricky Van Shelton’s Somebody Lied — Flashback Friday [VIDEO]

Time to wrap up another week and time to take a trip down memory lane with this week's edition of Flashback Friday. This week we go back 25 years for Ricky Van Shelton's first #1 hit, "Somebody Lied".

From RVS's debut album "Wild Eyed Dream", this was Ricky's third single. This followed up the title track and his first top 10 hit, "Crime Of Passion". The song was originally recorded by the late great Conway Twitty a few years earlier but never released as a single. This would become Ricky's very first #1 hit and would follow this up with 4 consecutive chart toppers. Eventually he would score 12 total #1 singles that all started with this one.

Ricky hasn't released any new music since 2000's "Fried Green Tomoatoes". In 2006, he announced that he has retired from touring to spend time with his family.
