2001- Faith Hill is ranked as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World by People Magazine.  Julia Roberts and Jaron and the Long Road To Love, who was then a part of the pop-duo Evan and Jaron, also make the list.

1984- Alabama takes home 3 Academy of Country Music Awards for Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group and Album for 'The Closer You Get.' Janie Fricke earns Female and Lee Greenwood wins Male Vocalist of the Year.
