2003- Lee Ann Womack, Chely Wright, Wayne Newton and Kid Rock are among an entourage that heads to the Middle East for a USO tour.
2000- The Country Music Association announces that Charley Pride and Faron Young will be inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame. They are the final members to be honored before the Hall moves into a new building in downtown Nashville.
1999- The Country Music Association announces Dolly Parton, Conway Twitty and Johnny Bond will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
