Tom Coughlin made it official today: He is stepping down as head coach of the New York Giants.

It has definitely been a frustrating few years since their last Superbowl win, and Tom mentioned those difficulties in his statement.

But once the dust settles he will be remembered for 2 stunning Superbowl runs concluding with victories over the Patriots. Ah yes, the Pats. The Manning scramble, the Tyree catch, the Manningham catch - Tom was part of some unforgettable moments.

My wife Stacy is a Pats fan. She and the rest of Patriots nation are probably reliving the sting of those 2 losses today and are happy they'll never have to see Coughlin in the playoffs again.

Thanks for the memories Tom...
