It is a Nashville institution. And soon, it will be one in New York City as well as the Grand Ole Opry prepares to branch out.

How awesome does this sound? Very soon we will have a slice of Nashville just a few hours away!

According to Billboard, the Opry is planning to open a new restaurant and music venue in Times Square in April of 2017. The venue will be called the 'Opry City Stage' and will '...will feature retail space, a listening room and private event space, a bar and a restaurant.' Billboard says the venue will; feature live performances, video feeds from the actual Opry in Nashville, and the legendary Bluebird Cafe will even be helping to put shows together.

There really is nothing like going to Nashville to take in some live country music, but I have to imagine this is the next best thing. The Opry is known for great live music, so anything associated with is sure to be awesome.

And hey, ya gotta love the drive to New York City versus Nashville, right?
