I saw this story circulating on Facebook yesterday morning but I wasn't sure it was true. I also was hoping it wasn't. As I watched the news last night, Waterford police did confirm that there was an attempted abduction. Now they need the public's help.

As a Waterford resident, I have to say this whole bridge construction has been a pain. Now listen, before you go and get upset with me and say, "it needed to be done" or "don't you care about safety?" Of course I care and of course I know it needed to be done, but still, as an every day commuter, it was starting to become more and more of a problem.

We live in such a beautiful area, but crime happens. Because of that crime some of our beautiful towns aren't as safe as the others. It turns out two of our towns are in the Top 20 of the "Safest Places In Upstate New York," according to FBI crime data.

I live on the Cohoes side of the Cohoes Waterford Bridge and I understand that it needs to be replaced. I don't understand, however, why they have to shut down the entire area for every weekend in July.

It's awesome to see a town in the Capital Region mentioned among the best small town festivals in the state.

Back in 2011, Waterford saw some of the worst flooding they've ever seen. It seemed like the flooding lasted forever! People were boating down through the village like it was the every day norm, homes were damaged, cars ruined and now all we have to recall that time are photos and videos that pop up here on the internet.

I've lived in Waterford almost my entire life. I have Waterfordian pride and even more so today after seeing this amazing story. Typically I wouldn't be writing a post about something that happened in South Korea but it involves a Soldier from the 339th Quartermaster Company

Way to make me proud, Halfmoon. It's true, it takes one bad apple in the bunch to ruin a good thing. Not that Halfmoon is ruined by this news story, it's just one more ridiculous

Momentive Performance Materials workers, who have been on strike since November, have agreed to a new contract.

We got a lot of snow over the weekend. I realize this is no news to you but listen, you could either be upset about it or just run with it and enjoy the heck out of it. I chose the latter and let me tell ya, it was fantastic!

Yesterday Marissa and I talked about the strike at the Momentive Performance Materials plant in Waterford. We had received a call from the wife of one of the picketers asking for wood for the burn barrels on the picket line, when I thought to myself, "Gosh, this thing has been going on for a really long time...
