We had been hearing Uber and Lyft would be here by July 4th weekend, and that us now a reality.

Ride-sharing could be up and running sometime in June and you could make some extra money driving for Uber.

It seems as soon as there was potential for Uber and Lyft to be in the Capital Region, people couldn't stop talking about it, it was the only thing that would make the 518 perfect. Now, we're not going to have to wait as long as expected.

Reddit is one of my favorite websites. It's probably the first website I check out every day to see what's trending online, especially the local subreddits. I like to know locally what everyone is talking about and with Uber and Lyft coming to New York/the Capital Region in July, it's not a surprise that it's a topic on the local front page.

It has been too long of a wait, but we are finally seeing the headlights at the end of the tunnel: ride-sharing will be starting soon in Upstate New York!

I've seen the tv commercials, news stories and read quite a bit about how Uber needs to be here in the Capital Region.  Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't.  But I will say this, I'm tired of hearing local business owners, lobbyists, and over enthusiastic "Uber Fans" talking about how "lacking" and yes, even "stupid' (see video) the Capital Region is because we don't have it.

It looks like we are finally getting closer to having Uber and Lyft in the Capital Region.

The state senate is back in session Monday, and they are expected to address a bill to bring ridesharing to New York.

We have been hearing about it for months, and it looks like we could be closer to ridesharing finally coming to Upstate New York.

For quite some time there has been discussion about bring ride sharing to the Capital Region. An assemblyman has started a petition to garner support.

Having in lived in areas that had Uber, it is mind boggling we don't have the ride-share service in Albany. But here is how you can help change that.
