Ride sharing is nearly two weeks old and there are already a few hiccups in the system. People all over the Capital Region are using either Uber or Lyft to get around, but not every place is accepting of the programs.
The day has finally arrived where the Capital Region can reap the benefits of ride sharing. Today was fun, interesting and educational as I tried Uber for the very first time.
We've been waiting and waiting and now it's finally here! Ride sharing is available in the Capital Region and now us 518-ers will know the benefits of Uber and Lyft!
It seems as soon as there was potential for Uber and Lyft to be in the Capital Region, people couldn't stop talking about it, it was the only thing that would make the 518 perfect. Now, we're not going to have to wait as long as expected.
Reddit is one of my favorite websites. It's probably the first website I check out every day to see what's trending online, especially the local subreddits. I like to know locally what everyone is talking about and with Uber and Lyft coming to New York/the Capital Region in July, it's not a surprise that it's a topic on the local front page.
It has been too long of a wait, but we are finally seeing the headlights at the end of the tunnel: ride-sharing will be starting soon in Upstate New York!
I've seen the tv commercials, news stories and read quite a bit about how Uber needs to be here in the Capital Region. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. But I will say this, I'm tired of hearing local business owners, lobbyists, and over enthusiastic "Uber Fans" talking about how "lacking" and yes, even "stupid' (see video) the Capital Region is because we don't have it.
