This weekend is all about Mom. But you knew that already, didn't you? Oh?! I reminded you! Well, it's a good thing, don't ya think?! Mom is important! Something perfect to do with Mom this Mothers Day Weekend is happening right in our very own backyard: the 69th Annual Tulip Festival in Albany's Washington Park! Plus GNA will be hanging out on Sunday!

I read this morning on the Times Union website that it's time once again for young women to submit their applications to the Albany Tulip Queen Selection Committee so that they can be in the running to be crowned Albany's Tulip Queen.

As I'm typing this, my fingers are so cold they are numb.  I just asked my husband to put another log on the fire, and although we've only had an actual "winter" for a few days this year, I'm already sick of it! In case you haven't heard already, this year's Tulip Festival in Albany's Washington Park is going to be much different than previous years -- all thanks to some out of control college students who decided to pretend they were Irish on Albany's St. Patty's, parade day.

The 63rd Albany Tulip Festival will take place on Mother’s Day Weekend, May 7 and 8, in Albany’s Washington Park. Of course you'll see thousands tulips, enjoy plenty of entertainment, great food and activities for the kids. There will also be the other traditions like the Tulip Queen Coronation and Mother of the Year award. There are going to be some big changes for alcohol restrictions.
