Schenectady has been a hotbed for filming movies and TV shows. Back in June of 2021, there was a show filmed for Discovery Plus and the Travel Channel called "A Haunting" and Schenectady was the backdrop. Also, a local couple appears in the show that airs tonight
On Saturday night's premiere episode of the Travel Channel's "Destination Fear," they will visit and investigate hauntings and paranormal activity at the Saratoga Homestead Sanitarium.
A local historic site is the focus of a national television show on the Travel Channel called the "Most Terrifying Places". We have actually done a haunting here and we hope they find more paranormal stuff than we did.
There is a ton of history from the days of prohibition and gambling in the 1930s and one of the gangsters of the time is said to have buried his fortune somewhere in Saratoga County. The Travel Channel searched for it and they reveal their findings (if any) on TV next week.

The Travel Channel is back this August with new episodes of one of my favorite shows "Man Vs Food". New host, same concept; Eat until you can't eat any more.
