The pandemic has been especially hard on the arts and small theaters that have been in business for decades. The Crandell Theatre in Chatham is one of those historic theaters that is struggling. However, because of the two million dollars raised and another million in an endowment, the ninety-five year old theater will be better than ever.
There is no doubt that the arts have been financially hurt by the coronavirus pandemic. Many theaters have been closed for nearly a full year. Now they are trying to get creative to save their venues and the arts in their cities. Glens Falls has come up with a unique way to save their beloved theater and they hope it works.
There are beautiful, historic buildings and neighborhoods throughout the Capital Region. Now the Governor has secured millions to restore and rebuild them in many of our cities and towns.
Monday there was a surprise party at Proctors with the Capital Repertory Theatre to announce the upcoming productions making their way to the Capital Region. I think jaws dropped when the list started rolling!
